Entertainment bar operating with two signs to avoid crackdown... 26 people including owner and customers booked
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] An unlicensed entertainment bar operating under two different signs to evade crackdowns was caught.
According to the police on the 27th, the Suseo Police Station in Seoul apprehended a karaoke room operating without a license in the basement level 1 of a building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 10:50 PM on the 26th. One business owner was booked on charges of violating the Food Sanitation Act, and 25 people including 14 customers and 11 employees were booked on charges of violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
During a comprehensive crackdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the police noticed the business staff hastily closing the entrance door and caught the scene. At the time of the raid, eight rooms had whiskey and side dishes placed, and male customers were reportedly drinking with female hostesses.
