Jeonnam Fire Department Implements 'Fire Safety Measures' for Chuseok Holiday
Special Fire Safety Inspection Conducted at Multi-Use Facilities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) announced on the 26th that it will implement fire safety measures ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
For one month until September 23, when the Chuseok holiday ends, special fire inspections will be conducted on about 600 multi-use facilities, including 26 warehouse facilities, 82 multi-use facilities, 25 vaccination centers, and 467 facilities for vulnerable evacuees.
The inspections will focus on the maintenance status of fire facilities, closure or locking of emergency exits, and the act of placing obstacles, and violations will be addressed accordingly.
Additionally, from September 17 to 23, before and after Chuseok, special alert duty will be carried out to strengthen the initial response system to minimize casualties and property damage through rapid response in case of disasters.
Fire safety consulting will be provided to COVID-19 related facilities such as residential treatment centers to enable autonomous fire safety management.
Furthermore, to raise awareness of fire safety, promotional activities will be intensified to focus on the installation of residential fire facilities, fire prevention rules, and important fire safety practices to be observed.
In preparation for an increase in reports during the Chuseok holiday, the 119 comprehensive situation room will operate additional reception desks and provide emergency medical consultation services as well as information on the operation of medical institutions and pharmacies.
Chief Ma Jaeyoon said, “We will do our best to ensure that residents can have a safe and enjoyable Chuseok holiday through safety inspections of multi-use facilities,” and added, “I hope everyone will have a safe holiday by paying special attention to compliance with quarantine rules and prevention of safety accidents to overcome COVID-19.”
