On the afternoon of the same day, Prime Minister Kim chaired the 4th Youth Policy Coordination Committee at the startup support organization 'Front1' located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and said, "Let us pool our wisdom so that words like hope and success take root before the youth," and "The government will do its best to fulfill its role without neglect."
At the meeting, the 'Special Youth Measures' containing a total of 87 tasks across sectors such as jobs, housing, welfare, and education were reviewed and approved. Prime Minister Kim explained, "This measure focuses on 'bridging the gap for the youth generation' and has prepared comprehensive and broad measures to ensure that youth are not marginalized in education, housing, and welfare." He added, "In particular, we have expanded national scholarship support so that university tuition fees can be reduced to about half for the middle class, and prepared customized asset-building support policies by income level, such as the Youth Tomorrow Savings Account." He also said, "Through the housing ladder, we have strengthened step-by-step youth housing welfare policies, from monthly rent support for low-income youth to supplementary support policies for home ownership, to ensure proper improvement of housing conditions."
Prime Minister Kim also said, "To overcome the particularly difficult employment conditions caused by the spread of COVID-19, we will supplement necessary policies at each stage from job seeking to employment and extend the temporarily operated job support policies altogether to continue support," adding, "We aim to support the dreams of youth by including 87 tasks that comprehensively cover all aspects of youth life, such as expanding support for youth participation and rights culture."
