Half of Daejeon Citizens Complete First COVID-19 Vaccination Dose

According to Daejeon City on the 26th, as of 3 PM on the 25th, 728,347 people in Daejeon have completed the first dose of vaccination. This corresponds to 50.1% of the total regional population of 1,454,011.
For the second dose, 350,096 people have completed the vaccination, accounting for 24.1% of the total population.
The city expects that, at the current pace of vaccination, it will easily achieve 70% first-dose coverage of the total population by next month and over 70% second-dose coverage by October.
There is anticipation that the vaccination rate target set by the city for herd immunity formation will be achieved around October.
In particular, starting today, nationwide vaccination will begin targeting about 400,000 citizens aged 18 to 49, which is expected to rapidly increase the vaccination rate. As of the 25th, among the total 433,129 eligible people in Daejeon, 296,129 (68.4%) have made vaccination reservations.
Vaccinations will be conducted at 306 entrusted medical institutions and 5 autonomous district vaccination centers, with the vaccine type determined according to supply.
