Goyang City Extends 'Public Property Rental Fee' Reduction Until Year-End
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Goyang City in Gyeonggi Province will extend the rent reduction for public property leases until the end of this year.
The city announced on the 26th, "Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic causing accumulated burdens on self-employed business owners, the reduction period will be extended from the end of June to the end of December this year."
The city has provided about 1.5 billion KRW in rent reductions from March last year through the first half of this year and plans to support a total reduction of 1.9 billion KRW by the end of the year.
Approximately 135 commercial tenants of public property are eligible for the reduction, and if businesses cannot operate due to building closures, the lease period will be extended or the rent will be fully refunded on a daily basis.
