Samsung Mocked Steve Jobs as "Turtleneck Wearer"? Apple Fans Say "Crossed the Line"
[Asia Economy Reporter Joeslgina] Samsung Electronics is facing controversy for describing Apple’s late founder Steve Jobs as a "turtleneck wearer" in the official application description. Some critics argue that mentioning the deceased’s appearance and style itself crossed a line.
According to IT media PhoneArena on the 24th (local time), Samsung Electronics described Jobs this way in the default theme description of the iTest app. The app included the content, "Samsung users are all unique and they like their phones to be unique as well," and "A turtleneck wearer should not decide the look of your phone."
The term "turtleneck wearer" is interpreted as referring to Jobs, who appeared in most official appearances wearing a black turtleneck and jeans.
PhoneArena reported, "Samsung Electronics and Apple, as competitors, have sued each other and publicly targeted and mocked each other for nearly a decade, but there was always a line that was not crossed," adding, "Unfortunately, it seems Samsung Electronics has decided to cross that line and attack Jobs."

Many Apple fans have also expressed outrage. They explain that it is inappropriate to mention the deceased’s appearance and personal style in an official app just to emphasize the competitive relationship. Captured images containing the related content have spread on social networking services (SNS), drawing criticism from Apple fans.
