Goheung-gun Accepting Nominations for 'Citizen Award' Candidates
Education, Culture & Sports, and Social Welfare & Industry: Two Sectors
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Song Gwi-geun) announced on the 24th that it will accept nominations for candidates for the ‘Goheung Citizen Award’ by the 14th of next month in celebration of the ‘47th Goheung Citizen’s Day’ on November 1.
The Goheung Citizen Award is the highest honor given to proud citizens who have made remarkable contributions to the welfare of citizens and regional development, bringing honor to Goheung-gun. One recipient will be awarded in each of the two categories: ‘Education & Culture·Sports’ and ‘Social Welfare·Industry.’
Nominees can be recommended by heads of various institutions and organizations as well as town and township chiefs. Completed nomination documents and materials proving the achievements should be submitted to the nominee’s local town or township office (for those living outside the area, the registered domicile applies).
The awardees will be finalized through the ‘Citizen Award Deliberation Committee’ to be held next month, and the awards will be presented at the ceremony commemorating the ‘47th Citizen’s Day.’

Meanwhile, the ‘Goheung Citizen Award’ has been bestowed upon 45 citizens and expatriates, including Important Intangible Cultural Property master singer the late Kim Yeon-su and Song Soon-seop, professional wrestler the late Kim Il, the late painter Cheon Gyeong-ja, and former national football player Park Ji-sung.
