A Comprehensive 'Ji·San·Hak' Platform Established in Busan... Mayor Park Hyung-jun Launches Control Tower to Lead Industry-Academia Cooperation Innovation
On the 24th, the 'Busan Industry-Academia Cooperation Center' Opens at Busan Technopark Yangjeong Branch
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City has established an advanced base in the innovation city to overcome the crisis faced by the region, companies, and universities. The 'Busan Regional Industry-Academia Cooperation Center' within the Yangjeong branch of Busan Technopark was opened on the 24th and will begin full-scale operations.
The 'Busan Regional Industry-Academia Cooperation Center' will serve as a key hub to create an innovation city for industry-academia cooperation in Busan, a core pledge of Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun.
It is expected to become a strong link in regional industry-academia cooperation through innovative measures that closely combine and integrate companies, universities, and research institutes.
The center will diagnose the current status of universities and companies and enable organic collaboration among companies and universities, playing roles such as inducing innovation in local universities, nurturing local talent, and transferring excellent technology to companies.
The main functions include ▲strengthening planning functions for regional industry-academia cooperation ▲building a collaboration database and promoting matching between supply and demand ▲establishing and operating networks to create an ecosystem for regional industry-academia cooperation ▲training talent based on industry-academia demand ▲planning R&D and supporting technology transfer ▲identifying and managing internal city projects and networks ▲acting as an intermediary capable of cooperating and communicating with frontline industry-academia-research sites.
This year, as the initial phase, the center plans to manage the industry-academia cooperation network within the Busan area. Projects include ▲a demand-supply survey for regional industry-academia cooperation (preliminary investigation of various facilities, talent, and technology fields related to industry-academia-research) ▲formation and operation of a field training support group (establishing an integrated management system for field training at the metropolitan level) ▲building an industry-academia cooperation database (constructing a regional information database through information demand surveys).
From next year, the center plans to lead the growth of regional industry-academia cooperation through various projects such as establishing a workforce training system reflecting industrial demand, a bridge project for industry-academia-linked field training, innovative talent development and employment linkage projects through company-demand-based field learning classes, industry-academia cooperation conferences, and technology matching days.
