"Improving Quality of Life in Rural Areas"
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Rural Development Administration announced on the 23rd that it will conduct the '2021 Welfare Survey for Farmers and Fishermen' from next month 1st to October 15th. This survey, conducted once every five years, will examine healthcare, social safety nets, and welfare services this year.
This is a nationally approved statistic based on the 'Special Act on Improving the Quality of Life of Farmers and Fishermen and Promoting Rural Development.' According to the Rural Development Administration, the survey results are mainly used by government ministries such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and related agencies to formulate policies aimed at improving the quality of life in rural areas.
During the survey period, employees of the joint research institute Comunita will visit 4,000 households in rural areas (eup and myeon) and conduct interviews with household heads or their spouses aged 19 or older. The responses of survey participants are strictly protected under Article 33 of the Statistics Act.
Hong Seokyoung, Director of the Rural Environment Resources Division at the Rural Development Administration, said, "The welfare survey for farmers and fishermen serves as basic data for policy formulation," and urged, "We hope that participants will actively cooperate for accurate survey results."
