Ajax Signs MOU with Wisdom Capital Group for Macau Casino IoT Infrastructure Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] KOSDAQ-listed company Igax is expanding its IoT (Internet of Things) business and entering overseas markets with a combined service of ‘indoor navigation’ and the ‘metaverse’ industry.
Igax announced on the 23rd that it signed a strategic business partnership (MOU) with global investment firm Wisdom Capital Group to promote a pilot project for building location-based IoT infrastructure in the Macau region. This MOU was led by YapX Holdings, known as the main consortium behind Igax’s recent acquisition. YapX Holdings is actively carrying out the overseas expansion of the businesses promoted by YapX.
Starting from this MOU, Igax plans to prioritize the pilot project for building IoT infrastructure centered on Macau Airport and casino facilities by utilizing the positioning IoT platform technology of its partner YapMobile. Since Wisdom Capital Group is a specialized investment company based in Macau, it plans to actively cooperate in supporting Igax by leveraging its own network.
Through the MOU signing, both companies agreed to discuss future strategic investment plans and expand business directions, actively cooperating to establish a global business model linked to the Macau smart city project.
Igax plans to implement IoT infrastructure construction technology in various areas by combining positioning IoT technology with augmented reality (AR) technology, which is gaining attention in the metaverse industry, to provide indoor navigation services that help find routes indoors where GPS does not work.
The positioning IoT technology that Igax plans to introduce has the advantage of accurately identifying the location of people or objects using wireless communication. In Korea, it has already been applied to various services such as the ‘Siren Order’ system of the world’s largest coffee franchise brand and the COVID-19 patient notification service ‘Green Zone, Green Pass pilot project’ currently underway in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
Wisdom Capital Group, which signed the MOU with Igax, is a global investment specialist company headquartered in Macau and an investment partner of CITIC Zhongxin Group and ICBC Industrial and Commercial Bank, which are promoting the construction of the Macau smart city.
