The police and fire department rushed to the scene and transported the man to a nearby hospital.
The police began tracking the woman based on a witness statement that "a woman got out of the car and ran away."
A few minutes later, a report was received that a woman had fallen from the rooftop of a nearby motel, and the police confirmed through CCTV that this woman was the same person who had fled.
The woman, who appeared to have taken an extreme measure by jumping from the 9th floor, died while being transported to the hospital, and the man underwent surgery but is reported to be in critical condition.
