[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Former baseball player Hong Seong-heun had a conflict with his daughter Hong Hwa-ri.
On the 21st, KBS 2TV's "Men Who Do Housework Season 2" aired, featuring Hong Seong-heun's daily life with his wife Kim Jeong-im, daughter Hong Hwa-ri, and son Hong Hwa-cheol.
In the broadcast, Hong Seong-heun appeared to have a strained relationship with his daughter. Even late at night, Hong Seong-heun was absorbed in gaming, and his daughter Hong Hwa-ri, who was studying in her room, eventually got angry. In response, Hong Seong-heun snapped, saying, "This is the only free time I have right now," and left the room.
Eventually, wife Kim Jeong-im stepped in to mediate between Hong Seong-heun and their daughter. Kim Jeong-im explained, "The kids and I, too, have been living with Dad under one roof for the first time in 17 years." She then told her husband, "We were living like this, and you just came in like this."
However, Hong Seong-heun said, "Why make such a big deal out of it? Other students are all studying, but you're making a fuss."
The conflict between Hong Seong-heun and his daughter Hong Hwa-ri continued. The next morning, Hong Hwa-ri barely greeted anyone and sat at the dining table. Kim Jeong-im asked Hong Seong-heun, "Please take Hwa-ri to her academy today." Hong Hwa-ri, a first-year student at a specialized high school, said she went to bed at 5 a.m. memorizing vocabulary.
Hong Seong-heun tried to talk with his daughter at his wife's request, but Hong Hwa-ri responded coldly. While preparing for the ride, Hong Seong-heun changed his clothes. Kim Jeong-im encouraged him, "Try talking with your daughter on the way," and suggested various topics. However, Hong Seong-heun started the conversation as he pleased, causing laughter around him.

In an interview with the production team, Kim Jeong-im recalled, "When Hwa-ri was young, she was an actress. Back then, their relationship was very good. They were like a picture-perfect father and daughter." She added, "Now that she has given up acting and is studying, she wants to do her best. I am grateful and proud, but there are many times I feel sorry and touched."
Hong Hwa-ri said, "When I entered the specialized high school, I thought I was good at studying. But there were many students better than me. This is a once-in-a-lifetime period, so I think studying is important." She continued, "But maybe because Dad was an athlete, he doesn't understand how precious this time is. That's why I keep getting sensitive."
