Police Officer Booked for Causing Death of Girlfriend After Physical Altercation During Argument
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 20th that they have booked a man in his 30s on charges of assault for fatally beating his girlfriend during an argument and are currently investigating him.
According to the police, the perpetrator, Mr. A, is accused of assault after repeatedly beating his girlfriend, Ms. B, during an argument in the lobby of an officetel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the 25th of last month.
At the time, Ms. B lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital but passed away on the 17th of this month.
The police applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A on assault charges on the 27th of last month, but it was reportedly dismissed by the court due to reasons such as "no risk of flight."
