SPC Group Participates in the 18th Energy Day Lights-Out Event
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] SPC Group announced on the 20th that it will participate in the 18th Energy Day lights-off event as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
Energy Day is an event hosted by the Energy Citizens' Coalition and supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Environment. It was designated in commemoration of August 22, 2003, when Korea recorded its highest electricity consumption ever. Now in its 18th year, the nationwide energy-saving event 'Energy Day' operates under the slogan "Turn off the lights and turn on the stars," with over 30 organizations and major companies across the country participating in simultaneous nationwide lights-off events, raising air conditioner temperature settings, and cutting standby power.
SPC Group plans to participate in the event by setting the cooling temperature of its headquarters building, Yangjae Office, 2℃ higher to 27℃ from 2 PM for one hour on the 20th, and turning off interior and exterior lights for 5 minutes starting at 9 PM. Additionally, stores nationwide including Paris Baguette, Baskin Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, and Pascucci will voluntarily turn off exterior signs and landscape lighting to minimize customer inconvenience while participating in the event.
