View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Regarding reports that seven countries, including the United Kingdom and Germany, refused to sign the 'Seoul Declaration' prepared at the P4G Seoul Summit held at the end of May, the Blue House responded, "Please understand that a compromise was reached between developing and developed countries."
A Blue House official answered reporters' questions on the 19th, saying, "P4G is a consultative body mainly composed of middle-income and developing countries," and added, "When the declaration focuses on middle-income and developing countries, developed countries may evaluate it as falling short of their expectations."
This was a response to reports by some media outlets that seven countries, including the United Kingdom and Germany, refused to sign the Seoul Declaration at the recent P4G Seoul Summit.
The official added, "If we apply the standards of developed countries, middle-income and developing countries might not sign. So please understand that a compromise was reached between developing and developed countries."
