Ilsan Cha Hospital Recruits Professor Jeong Jaebok, Authority on Pancreatobiliary Diseases
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Ilsan CHA Hospital announced on the 19th that it has recruited Professor Jeong Jae-bok, a domestic authority on pancreaticobiliary diseases.
After graduating from Yonsei University College of Medicine, Professor Jeong provided medical care at Yonsei University Severance Hospital until 2018. He then worked at the National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital before joining Ilsan CHA Hospital earlier this month. He has served as the head of the Department of Gastroenterology at Severance Hospital, director of the Digestive Disease Center, president of the Korean Pancreatobiliary Association, and chairman of the Korean Society of Gastroenterology. In March 2018, he also published a textbook on pancreatology as the lead author.
Professor Jeong plans to contribute to the early detection and treatment of cancer. He stated, “I will do my best to provide the best service to patients by applying all my clinical experience and know-how accumulated so far.”
Kang Jung-gu, director of Ilsan CHA Hospital, said, “With the addition of Professor Jeong Jae-bok, the top authority in the field of gastroenterology in Korea, we can provide higher quality services to local residents,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen medical services in the future.”

Meanwhile, Ilsan CHA Hospital has recently strengthened its internal medicine hospital capabilities by consecutively recruiting Professors Jeong Jae-bok and Jang Yoon-chul. About 20 medical staff in departments such as endocrinology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, cardiology, and nephrology provide patient-tailored care. They also plan to introduce global multidisciplinary cancer treatment to improve patient satisfaction and treatment outcomes.
