The government announced that the joint inspection team, established to stabilize egg prices, visited the Busan and Gyeongnam branches of the Korea Poultry Association and distribution centers this afternoon to check shipment prices and distribution conditions. The inspection team, operating since the 12th, is composed of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Fair Trade Commission, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. They inspect the entire process from 'production-distribution-sales.'
This inspection was conducted to investigate the reasons why retail egg prices in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions are relatively higher than those in non-metropolitan areas, starting from the shipment and distribution stages. In the Yeongnam region, on the 18th, the price per special egg was 192 won, which is higher than the metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, and Gangwon region (180 won), and the Honam region (184 won).
The inspection team also discussed measures to ensure that the increasing trend in domestic egg production, due to the recovery of the number of laying hens, is quickly reflected in the announced prices and distribution prices.

The inspection team stated, "Although egg prices have recently fallen somewhat, they still remain at a higher level compared to the average year. Therefore, we plan to continuously monitor the situation to promptly identify field difficulties and prepare swift support measures." They added, "If any signs of collusion or unfair practices are found during the joint inspection, we will respond through investigations by the Fair Trade Commission."
