On the 18th, Changwon City held a Citizens Conflict Management Committee meeting and decided to mediate the conflict between Wolyeong residents and KEPCO.
The 'Changwon City Masanhappo-gu Wolyeong-dong Transmission Line Expansion Project' has faced opposition from local residents since its approval in 2010, resulting in several changes to the plan.
However, recently, with the construction of the large-scale apartment complex Wolyeong Marine Ashiang in the area, residents who learned of the project belatedly raised concerns, leading to new conflicts.
On the day, Park Jongchun, Chairman of the Changwon City Citizens Conflict Management Committee, stated, "We have decided to form a separate task force to facilitate smooth mediation," adding, "We will explore various solutions such as on-site inspections and expert consultations to come up with recommendations that satisfy all parties."

Yoon Deokhee, Changwon City's Citizen Communication Officer, emphasized, "This agenda is the third to be adopted since the implementation of the conflict mediation application system last year. We will spare no effort to support the Citizens Conflict Management Committee in reaching a smooth conclusion," and added, "Since the stakeholders themselves applied for mediation, they should accept the final recommendations of the Citizens Conflict Management Committee."
