Two New COVID-19 Cases in Hwasun... Jeonnam Cases No. 2374 and 2389

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] As of 8 a.m. on the 18th, 2 new confirmed cases were reported in Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do.

According to the county on the day, 2 residents who were in self-quarantine after contact with confirmed family members tested positive.

The confirmed cases were classified as close contacts after a family member living in another region they recently met tested positive, and they underwent diagnostic tests due to suspected COVID-19 symptoms such as muscle pain during self-quarantine.

They were classified as Jeonnam 2374 (Hwasun 101) and Jeonnam 2389 (Hwasun 102).

The confirmed case Jeonnam 2374 (Hwasun 101) was infected through contact with two family members living in Seoul who visited Hwasun (Jeonnam 2292 and 2293). Jeonnam 2292 and 2293 were confirmed positive on the 13th and 14th, respectively.

The confirmed case Jeonnam 2389 (Hwasun 102) is known to have recently traveled with family (Gwangju 3643), and Gwangju 3643 was infected on the 13th in Muju, Jeonbuk, through contact with Bucheon 3944.

Jeonnam 2374 and Jeonnam 2389 were confirmed positive during self-quarantine, so there is no movement history in Hwasun.

A county official said, “There have been many cases recently of infections caused by visits and contact with family members living in other regions,” and added, “Please refrain from visits by family and relatives living in other regions to their hometowns and minimize contact as much as possible.”
