Incheon City to Provide Up to 2 Million Won in Disaster Relief Funds to Tourism Businesses
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City announced on the 17th that it will provide special disaster relief funds to tourism businesses struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The support targets businesses registered as tourism enterprises (travel agencies, hotels, tourist facilities, international conference businesses, amusement facilities, tourism convenience facilities) with the military district or Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority before June 30 of this year.
However, casino businesses, 4- to 5-star hotels, specialized resorts, and tourism businesses that have closed are excluded.
Applications can be submitted online from the 20th of this month until the 5th of next month. Exceptionally, if non-face-to-face application is difficult, applicants can visit the tourism departments of the military district or Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority to apply in person.
The support amount is 2 million KRW for travel agencies and duty-free tourism businesses, which showed a significant decrease in sales compared to 2019 by industry, and 1 million KRW for other tourism sectors.
