According to the city on the 17th, starting next month, a project will commence to construct embankments and refurbish the embankment crests to serve as walking paths along a 1.3 km section of the lower Yulha Stream, with a budget of 4 billion KRW funded by national and provincial government.
The lower part of Yulha Stream experienced embankment overflow during the heavy rains caused by Typhoon Chaba in 2016 and Typhoon Danas in 2019, resulting in flooding damage to nearby farmland.
The city requested the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to designate the area as a Natural Disaster Risk Improvement Zone, securing 2 billion KRW each from national and provincial funds, allowing the entire project to be funded by these sources.
