Jeong Jin-seok, Five-term Candidate, Runs Unopposed for People Power Party's National Assembly Deputy Speaker Seat
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] The People Power Party announced on the 16th that Jeong Jin-seok, a five-term veteran and the longest-serving member, has been the sole candidate for the position of Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
The candidates for the chairpersons of the standing committees were decided through dialogue and mutual coordination among three-term lawmakers. Yoon Jae-ok was nominated for the Chairperson of the Political Affairs Committee, Cho Hae-jin for the Education Committee, Park Dae-chul for the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, Lee Chae-ik for the Environment and Labor Committee, Lee Heon-seung for the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, and Lee Jong-bae for the Special Budget and Accounts Committee, all as sole candidates.
However, for the Chairperson of the Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, Food, and Maritime Affairs Committee, three-term Kim Tae-heum and four-term Hong Moon-pyo both entered the race.
