Gyeongju-si Community Security Association and Dongguk University Hospital Join Hands to Support Surgery and Care Costs for Abused Children
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Gyeongju City announced on the 16th that it has provided medical and caregiving expenses to support the rehabilitation treatment of boy A (4), who is residing in a child welfare facility due to child abuse.
This support was made possible through cooperation between Dongguk University Gyeongju Hospital, the dedicated medical institution for child abuse in Gyeongju City, and the Gyeongju City Community Security Council.
Boy A, who has been receiving rehabilitation treatment at the Orthopedics Department of Dongguk University Gyeongju Hospital due to child abuse and a congenital disability, underwent surgery on the 29th of last month. The cost was fully covered by Dongguk University Gyeongju Hospital.
Additionally, the Gyeongju City Community Security Council, upon hearing about the shortage of child caregivers due to COVID-19, supported boy A’s caregiving expenses with sponsorship from Seodongseon, a member of the Gyeongju City Couple Honor Society.
