1722 Confirmed Cases by 9 PM, 28 Fewer Than Yesterday... Around 1900 Expected on the 15th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] As the fourth wave of COVID-19 continues in South Korea, confirmed cases surged nationwide on the 14th as well.
According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, from midnight to 9 p.m. on that day, a total of 1,722 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide.
This is 28 fewer than the 1,750 cases recorded at the same time the previous day, but 153 more than the 1,569 cases recorded at 9 p.m. last Saturday (August 7).
Looking at the regions where confirmed cases were reported that day, the metropolitan area accounted for 1,085 cases (63.0%), and non-metropolitan areas accounted for 637 cases (37.0%).
By city and province, Gyeonggi had 509 cases, Seoul 480, Busan 121, Incheon 96, Gyeongnam 80, Gyeongbuk 76, Chungnam 60, Daegu 57, Daejeon 44, Chungbuk 42, Jeju 39, Gangwon 31, Gwangju and Ulsan 29 each, Jeonnam 18, and Jeonbuk 11.
Among the 17 cities and provinces nationwide, Sejong has yet to report any confirmed cases.
