'The Future of Korean Literature' Top Writer: Kim Choyeop
Yes24 Voting Results... Jang Ryujin and Cheon Seonran Follow Behind
Online bookstore Yes24 announced on the 13th that SF writer Kim Cho-yeop ranked first in the 'Young Writers Who Will Shape the Future of Korean Literature' vote conducted on its website. Kim Cho-yeop received 50,679 votes during the month-long voting period, narrowly surpassing Jang Ryujin, who garnered 48,375 votes. The third place went to Cheon Seonran, who received 39,181 votes. Kim Cho-yeop has intriguingly depicted minorities marginalized in the interaction between science, technology, and society. A representative example is "The Girl in the Cylinder (2019)." She continuously builds provisional truths, striving to get one step closer to the truth. Upon hearing the voting results, she said, "I thought I should quickly prepare my next work," adding, "I feel that the readers' expectations carry the gentle push toward my next destination."
