Mapo-gu Holds Youth Policy Forum 'Mirae Yeoreum' Opening the Future
Live Broadcast at 2 PM on the 14th via Online Platforms Zoom and YouTube... Discussion on the Reality and Policy Development Directions Based on the '2021 Mapo-gu Youth Demand Survey'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) will hold the youth policy forum "Future Yeoreum," opening the future as part of the Mapo Innovation Education District Project, online at 2 p.m. on the 14th.
Since its first start in 2016, this year marks the 6th 'Youth Policy Forum,' hosted by the Mapo-gu Youth Culture House (Director Jeong Jinhee).
The Youth Policy Forum is a public discussion platform that analyzes the demands of Mapo-gu youth and discusses youth policy operation and policy development directions reflecting these demands.
This year, under the theme "Embracing the Present and Future of Mapo-gu Youth," experts and youth will freely communicate to capture the vivid voices of youth.
The policy forum will be conducted via live streaming on the online platforms Zoom and YouTube in accordance with COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, allowing anyone to participate. However, only 100 people who apply in advance can join via Zoom.
Prior to the forum, the district conducted the "2021 Mapo-gu Youth Demand Survey" from May 20 for about a month, targeting approximately 3,300 local youths to understand their current status and needs.
At this forum, based on the survey results, experts in various fields such as outdoor activities, volunteering, career, and welfare, including Professor Yeongwook Jeon from Korea National Open University, will discuss the current status of youth and propose policies and development directions to create an environment where youth can grow healthily.
Since representatives of the Mapo Innovation Education District Working Council will also attend the forum on the 14th, the district plans to link it with the Our Village Education Debate, which shares youth opinions on the Innovation Education District.
Kim Jaewon (18), chairman of the Mapo-gu Youth Participation Committee and a presenter, expressed expectations, saying, "For an in-depth policy forum, we have been studying and discussing youth policies for over a month. I hope many youths participate and share diverse thoughts and opinions."
The district plans to share the opinions from the forum with all departments and support the active reflection of these contents in future policy establishment and project implementation, as well as utilize related matters in the operation of the Innovation Education District.
Mayor Yudonggyun of Mapo-gu said, "I am pleased to provide a communication platform where youth can voice their opinions and actively participate in policies amid the prolonged COVID-19 situation that has restricted youth activities. We will reflect the various opinions presented at the forum in the district's youth policies and projects going forward."
