Despite the COVID-19 crisis, Daegu City provided a total of 32,039 senior jobs through 44 implementing organizations, including senior clubs, district and county offices, and senior welfare centers, to ensure income security and a healthy retirement life for the elderly.
In the 2020 Senior Employment Project implementing organization evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, all eight senior clubs, which are dedicated senior employment agencies in the districts and counties, were selected as excellent organizations.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare evaluated 1,288 senior employment implementing organizations nationwide for the 2020 Senior Employment Project. As a result, among the five nationwide S-grade organizations selected in the multiple evaluations of three categories (public interest type, social service type, market type), Daegu accounted for three (Seo-gu, Nam-gu, and Suseong-gu Senior Clubs).
Additionally, in the single category public interest type, Dalseong Senior Club was selected, and in the social service type, Dong-gu and Dalseo-gu Senior Clubs were chosen, meaning all eight senior clubs in Daegu were recognized as excellent organizations and will receive a total incentive of 150 million KRW.
Incentives ranging from 5 million to 35 million KRW will be distributed differentially according to the evaluation results for each organization.
Every year, companies founded through the senior club specialization project serve as a stepping stone for growth into market-type businesses, laying the foundation for the success of Daegu City's market-type projects.
