Jae-hyung Choi's Adopted Son's Letter: "Father Is My Directional Key... Please Shine Light on the Republic of Korea"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] A letter left by Choi Jae-hyung's eldest adopted son, Youngjin, before going to study abroad in the Netherlands was recently revealed.
According to Choi's camp, Youngjin wrote in the letter, "You have raised me to be strong, honest, and diligent, and taught me to distinguish between the right path and the wrong one," adding, "I will never live in vain and will always cherish time and moments, striving to grow harder."
He wrote, "Being abandoned as a child was more than anything a wound and pain, so I trusted no one, and the wounds only deepened," and "It was completely healed by my father's love."
He continued, "When I was 10, I had no dreams and it was hard to adapt to the completely changed life through adoption, so it was difficult for me to focus, but my dad believed in me, silently became my steering wheel, and even blocked the waves."
He said, "Honestly, I lived in an orphanage for 10 years, so it would have been okay not to serve in the military, but I went proudly, did my duties diligently, and though it was hard, I am happy," and urged, "Dad, please shine a light on the Republic of Korea. Please create a country where many friends can live dreaming."
Last month on the 20th, Youngjin also responded on Facebook to a former Democratic Party deputy spokesperson who said, "Stop mentioning child adoption," saying, "I am not ashamed and I am proud."
