Gurye-gun First Elected Secretary General of the 7th Term Kim Sin-jong, Council Specialist, Passes Away
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Gurye County (Governor Kim Sunho) announced on the 10th that Kim Sinjong, the first Secretary General of the 7th elected administration and a council specialist, passed away yesterday at the age of 50.
Born in Gurye County, Specialist Kim Sinjong entered public service in 1992 and devoted nearly 30 years to the development of his hometown.
From July 2018 to the end of June 2021, he served as the first Secretary General for Kim Sunho, the 7th elected Governor of Gurye County.
In July, he was selected as a training candidate for administrative officers and served as acting specialist in the council secretariat.
During his three years as Secretary General, he worked silently day and night by Governor Kim’s side for the advancement of county administration. He even gave up weekends, showing a responsible attitude as a public official.
Despite being mentally and physically exhausted from frequent civil complaints, he fulfilled his duties until the end, becoming a role model for other staff.
He was recognized for his significant contributions to county administration, receiving two Ministerial Commendations and three commendations from the Governor of Jeollanam-do.
Employees of Gurye County Office who visited the funeral hall recalled the deceased’s responsible and sincere demeanor during his lifetime and offered words of comfort, wishing him peace on his difficult journey.
Governor Kim Sunho said, “It hurts deeply as if my right arm has been severed,” and added, “I will remember the deceased’s life forever.”
Through his SNS, Governor Kim said, “He was a partner who ran alongside me every day and a close younger brother,” and “It pains me deeply to know he worked to the point of losing his health.”
The bereaved family includes his wife Han Sujeong and sons Kim Suhyun and Kim Sumin.
The funeral hall is set up at Gurye Hospital Funeral Home, and the funeral procession will be held tomorrow at Gurye Sesimsa Sky Park.
