Wando-eup in Wando-gun Holds Patriotic Taegeukgi Flag-Raising Photo Contest

[Wando = Asia Economy Honam News Bureau, Choi Kyungpil] The Wando-eup Residents' Autonomy Committee in Wando-gun, South Jeolla Province, is launching a Taegeukgi flag-raising campaign among local residents to celebrate the 76th anniversary of Liberation Day.

According to the county on August 10, the Residents' Autonomy Committee plans to award selected prizes to residents who post impressive photos of themselves raising the Taegeukgi on the Wando-gun official website and the "Urachacha Wando-eup Band" from Liberation Day on August 15 through the following day, after a rigorous review process.

The Residents' Autonomy Committee is actively utilizing various media, including village broadcasts and social networking services, to promote the large-scale flag-raising campaign in advance, encourage participation in the contest until August 15, celebrate the restoration of national sovereignty, and foster proper flag etiquette and patriotism.

Kim Geunsoo, chairperson of the Residents' Autonomy Committee, stated, "We are making every effort in the hope that the entire town, especially the downtown area of Wando-eup, will be filled with waves of Taegeukgi flags on this Liberation Day," and appealed, "Even amid the COVID-19 crisis, I urge everyone to join the Taegeukgi flag-raising campaign together."
