Muan-gun, Namak and Oryong New Towns Developed into Clean Premium Cities
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Jeonnam Muan-gun (Governor Kim San) is accelerating maintenance work to develop the Namak and Oryong new towns into clean, high-quality cities that are pleasant to live in.
According to the county on the 10th, about 490,000㎡ of parks and green spaces in the new town area are maintained four times a year by deploying over 200 personnel for tasks such as grass cutting and shrub trimming, creating a neat and clean urban landscape and promoting healthy tree growth.
In particular, the county is focusing on maintaining areas frequently used by residents, such as Namak Central Park, Namak Waterfront Park, and the streets of the Oryong district, and plans to remove reeds, weeds, and pest habitats around the landscape drainage channels near Daejukdo Neighborhood Park so that residents can enjoy walking in a pleasant environment.
Additionally, areas requiring urgent maintenance or sections with heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be maintained regularly to minimize inconvenience to residents.
The county carried out maintenance work twice in April and June, and plans to conduct large-scale grass cutting in August and October, before and after the holidays, to welcome visitors returning to their hometowns.
Governor Kim San said, “To provide Namak and Oryong residents with public services at the level of a large city, we established the New Town Support Team last month,” adding, “We will continue to create a comfortable, clean, and high-quality city through systematic maintenance of parks and street trees.”
