Park Seong-il, Wanju County Governor, Works Hard to Secure National Funding for Social Economy Talent Development Institute
Proposal for Establishing a Renewable Energy Safety Evaluation Center and Budget for National Mugunghwa Research Institute Development
[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Park Seong-il, the governor of Wanju County, visited the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the 9th to strongly urge the inclusion of next year's government budget for the establishment of the "National Social Economy Talent Development Institute."
At a meeting with Jang Bo-young, head of the Employment Environment Budget Division at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Governor Park said, "The number of domestic social economy organizations has increased by more than 6,900 over the past three years, and the number of workers has surged by about 32,000. As these numbers will inevitably continue to grow, it is urgent to train and nurture professionals responsible for social economy projects and activities."
Governor Park emphasized the necessity of including 400 million KRW in next year's budget for feasibility study expenses to establish a systematic professional educational institution linked with Wanju, the "No. 1 place for social economy," to lay the foundation for nurturing core leaders, field activists, professional instructors, and workers on a cluster site within the Jeonbuk Innovation City in Wanju.
Along with this, Governor Park requested the inclusion of 1 billion KRW in the budget for the construction and operation of demonstration facilities necessary for the "Establishment of a Safety Evaluation Center for ESS linked to New and Renewable Energy," and 600 million KRW for feasibility study and infrastructure expenses for the "National Mugunghwa (Rose of Sharon) Center."
Wanju County plans to strengthen close cooperation with Jeonbuk Province and political circles to ensure that these three major issues are reflected in the Ministry of Economy and Finance's budget review, and will make an all-out effort until the final stage.
