440 New COVID-19 Cases in Seoul by 9 PM... 19 Fewer Than a Week Ago

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Seoul reported a provisional total of 440 new COVID-19 cases from midnight to 9 p.m. on Saturday, the 7th, according to the Seoul Metropolitan Government. This is 55 fewer than the same time the previous day and 19 fewer than last Saturday (July 31).
The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul set record highs earlier this month, with 583 cases on the 6th and 638 cases on the 13th, then averaged well over 500 cases per day before the spread somewhat slowed down. Over the recent fifteen days (July 23 to August 6), Seoul averaged 450 positive cases per day.
As of 9 p.m., among the 440 new confirmed cases in Seoul, 8 were imported cases, and the remaining 432 were domestic transmissions.
