Support Fund Usage Reaches 140 Billion Won, Aiding Local Economic Revitalization
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] It has been reported that 98% of the residents of Jeollabuk-do have received the emergency disaster relief fund provided to all residents of Jeollabuk-do.
Jeollabuk-do announced that since the emergency disaster relief fund support began on July 5 through 14 cities and counties as well as eup, myeon, and dong within the province, as of the first payment deadline on the 6th of this month, approximately 1,765,000 people, close to 98% of the total 1,801,000 residents, have received the prepaid disaster relief cards.
They also added that the amount used from the support fund reached 140 billion KRW, with a usage rate exceeding 75%.
After announcing the ‘Jeollabuk-do Emergency Disaster Relief Fund Support for All Residents’ in early May, Jeollabuk-do quickly and closely cooperated with the provincial council to enact ordinances and allocate a budget of 180 billion KRW, starting applications and payments from July 5.
For the approximately 50,000 residents who have not yet applied for or received the support fund by the originally planned first distribution completion date of the 6th, each city and county plans to extend the distribution period as appropriate to the local situation and implement outreach services to the local residents until September 3.
Residents of Jeollabuk-do who have not yet received the emergency disaster relief fund can conveniently inquire about the receipt methods by contacting their local city, county, eup, myeon, or dong community service centers by phone.
