Special Prosecutor on 'Sewol Ferry Evidence Tampering Suspicion' to Announce Investigation Results on the 10th
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Special Prosecutor Lee Hyun-joo, who is investigating allegations of evidence tampering in the Sewol ferry disaster, will announce the investigation results next week after about three months of activity.
According to the legal community on the 4th, Special Prosecutor Lee is scheduled to hold a press conference at the Seoul Bar Association on the 10th to announce the investigation results.
Originally set to conclude by the 11th of last month, Special Prosecutor Lee extended the investigation period once and is expected to reveal conclusions regarding the evidence tampering allegations through the press conference upon ending activities on the 10th of this month.

The special prosecution team, which officially began investigations with a plaque ceremony on May 13, has been investigating various allegations including the manipulation of restored Sewol ferry CCTV data, suspicions surrounding the collection process of the DVR (CCTV storage device), which is considered the black box of the Sewol ferry, and the appropriateness of the government response at the time, including the Blue House, related to the DVR.
