Gurye-gun Office Bandyalgom Ssireum Team Wins Team and Maehwa Class at the 1st Goseong Women's Jangsa Ssireum Tournament

[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Sun-ho) announced on the 3rd that the Gurye-gun Office Banded Bear Ssireum Team won the team competition and the Maehwa weight class in the ‘1st Goseong Women's Jangsa Ssireum Competition’ held in Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province.

The team competition final opponent was Ansan City Hall, a strong favorite for the championship, and the match was conducted in a best-of-five format.

In the first match, Gurye-gun Office player Yang Yun-seo defeated Ansan City Hall player Kim Eun-byeol with a 2-0 score, successfully gaining the initiative.

In the second match, Gurye-gun Office player Lee Se-mi continued the momentum by defeating Ansan City Hall player Jung Soo-young 2-0.

In the third match, Gurye-gun Office player Seon Chae-rim defeated Ansan City Hall player Lee A-ran 2-0, securing the final victory with a match score of 3-0.

The Gurye-gun Office Ssireum team once again proved their supremacy as the strongest women's ssireum team by winning the team competition.

In the Maehwa weight class, where players from Gurye-gun Office competed against each other, Yang Yun-seo defeated Seon Chae-rim 2-0 to win the championship.

Kim Sun-ho, Governor of Gurye-gun, said, “The efforts of the county and the athletes to create a safe and comfortable training environment harmonized well to produce good results,” and added, “We will continue to provide multifaceted support so that the athletes can focus solely on training.”

Meanwhile, the county is actively strengthening its team by enhancing cooling and heating facilities and convenience facilities to make the all-weather ssireum stadium usable in all four seasons, and by newly recruiting two promising players.
