Content Curation 'Kakao View' Launched... Editors Also Earn Money
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] A space where you can view news and content tailored to your preferences will be created on KakaoTalk. You can also become an editor yourself and generate income.
Kakao announced on the 3rd that it will launch a content curation service called 'Kakao View.'
Kakao View means 'viewing' content with various perspectives on KakaoTalk. It will appear as the third tab on KakaoTalk.
Creators who publish content on Kakao View are called 'View Editors' and can collect links to various content such as news, videos, text, and music to publish in the form of a 'board.' Each board can contain up to 10 content links.
Kakao View consists of 'View' and 'My View.' 'View' is a space to discover boards that match your tastes and perspectives. You can select topics of interest from a total of 22 categories including economy, hobbies, tech, health, and education, and subscribe to boards that suit your preferences by exploring various media outlets and View Editors.
'My View' is a space where you can gather boards from View Editors you subscribe to. If you find a View Editor or board you like, you can add the KakaoTalk channel by pressing the button at the top right of the board to collect and view boards published by that View Editor.
Any KakaoTalk user can participate as a View Editor. View Editors receive a share of advertising revenue in the 'My View' space based on the number of users receiving their boards and board exposure counts. Kakao plans to add various revenue models in the future, such as user sponsorships and paid content publishing.
