On the 2nd, the Korea Society Opinion Institute conducted a nationwide survey of 1,013 people aged 18 and over from July 30 to 31, commissioned by TBS. The suitability for the next presidential candidate showed former Prosecutor General Yoon at 32.3%, the highest.
Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung followed with 27.4%, with former Prosecutor General Yoon ahead of Lee within the margin of error (4.9 percentage points). Former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon recorded 16.0%, and former Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung had 5.8%.
Due to the convention effect of joining the People Power Party, former Prosecutor General Yoon's approval rating rose by 5.4 percentage points compared to last week. Lee Jae-myung increased by 1.4 percentage points. On the other hand, former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon dropped by 2.2 percentage points, and former Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung fell by 2.3 percentage points.
Party support showed the People Power Party at 34.9% and the Democratic Party at 31.9%. Compared to last week, the People Power Party rose by 1.6 percentage points, while the Democratic Party fell by 2.5 percentage points.
