On the 30th, at the Supreme Council meeting, Floor Leader Yoon said, "Representative Lee Jun-seok argued with a bizarre logic that the Media Arbitration Act contradicts the spirit of Roh Moo-hyun after the bill passed the subcommittee," adding, "The number of damage relief applications to the Media Arbitration Commission due to false and fabricated fake news has increased sixfold compared to 20 years ago."
He continued, "Since the spirit of Roh Moo-hyun is a common heritage, anyone is free to use it, but Representative Lee's spirit seems far from what the majority of the people feel. Isn't the spirit of Roh Moo-hyun about eradicating unfairness and privilege and creating a world where people live with dignity?" he questioned.
He then emphasized, "Fake news like the 'rice paddy watch,' the tyranny of the media that blindly copied it, and President Roh had to suffer helplessly from this," adding, "Are our people supposed to suffer from the media reform and prosecution reform without saying a word, just like he did? Eighty percent of the people support this."
Floor Leader Yoon urged the People Power Party to join, saying, "If media credibility increases, media freedom expands. If false reporting decreases, people's freedom also grows."

The day before, Representative Lee appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said, "(Former President Roh Moo-hyun) did not create laws punitively or harshly but encouraged the creation of many media outlets that could report from different perspectives. That is why many internet newspapers we know today emerged at that time," adding, "His somewhat liberal approach was to allow people to make their own judgments through various perspectives, but now it seems like even a slight mistake will be punished severely."
