[Concall] LG Chem "LG Energy Solution expects 430GWh electric vehicle battery capacity in 2025"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] LG Chem stated in its Q2 2021 earnings conference call on the 29th, "Since electric vehicle models equipped with dedicated EV platforms are continuously being released, we expect the market growth rate to be significantly faster compared to the past," adding, "Regarding automotive batteries alone, LG Energy Solution's production capacity, including cylindrical cells, is expected to reach around 150GWh this year."

They continued, "By 2025, this is expected to expand to approximately 430GWh globally," explaining, "Production capacity will increase to about 145GWh in the US, including cylindrical and pouch cells, and 155GWh in Europe, with additional production expected in China, Korea, and Indonesia."
