Haenam-gun Surpasses 60% First Dose Vaccination Rate

First Dose Vaccination Rate for Ages 18 and Over at 61.4%, Full Vaccination for Ages 50 and Over Begins

[Haenam＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, is smoothly progressing with 36,641 people, accounting for 62.1% of the COVID-19 vaccination target population, having completed the first dose.

According to the county on the 29th, as of the 27th, 62.1% of the 58,997 vaccination targets aged 18 and over have received at least one dose, and among them, 15,096 have completed the second dose.

Haenam-gun is promoting vaccinations aiming to vaccinate 50,147 residents by the third quarter, achieving an 85% vaccination rate.

In particular, the pre-registration rate for the 50s age group, 55-59 years old, is 88.6%, which is significantly higher than the national average. Excluding those who have already completed vaccination, the total number of residents aged 50-59 in the county is 8,569, of whom 7,346 have made reservations.

Since the 26th, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines have been administered at entrusted medical institutions for the target age groups and local government autonomous personnel. Going forward, vaccinations will be sequentially administered to those aged 50-54, elementary grade 3 to middle school teachers, childcare workers at child facilities, care personnel, and university entrance exam candidates (including repeaters) other than high school seniors.

Since the 20th, vaccinations have been given to high school seniors and high school staff, and Pfizer vaccinations are being administered at vaccination centers for those aged 60-74 who made reservations, education and childcare workers, and autonomous vaccination targets.

Additionally, Haenam-gun Public Health Center is minimizing leftover vaccines and efficiently connecting those wishing to receive leftover vaccines by posting leftover vaccine reservation applications on SNS (Kakao, Naver), Haenam Communication Net, and the official website, making it easy for any resident to apply.

Furthermore, with the large-scale vaccination of the general public in the third quarter and the administration of multiple vaccine types at entrusted medical institutions, safety management is being carefully monitored by producing additional stickers to be attached to the preliminary examination forms and distributing them to entrusted medical institutions to prevent misadministration and ensure vaccine management.

Meanwhile, Haenam-gun is distributing badges indicating vaccination completion to support the return to daily life for those who have completed vaccination. On the 26th, a badge awarding ceremony was held at the Hyunsan-myeon Residents' Autonomy Center.

County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan stated, “Despite the nationwide resurgence of COVID-19, Haenam-gun has maintained a safe zone,” and added, “Along with the social distancing level 3 measures, we will accelerate vaccination efforts to maintain Haenam as a COVID-19 clean zone.”
