Female Judoka Yoon Hyun-ji Advances to 78kg Quarterfinals
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Yoon Hyun-ji (Ansan City Hall), representing the South Korean women's judo team in the 78kg category, secured a win by ippon and advanced to the quarterfinals.
On the 29th, at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, during the Tokyo Olympics women's judo 78kg round of 16 match against Natalie Powell (United Kingdom), Yoon scored two waza-ari to achieve an ippon victory.
She earned the first waza-ari just 17 seconds after the match started with a thigh wrap throw. Then, with 1 minute and 24 seconds remaining, she scored another waza-ari with a back throw, securing the ippon win.
