On the 28th, visitors at the Lotte Department Store main branch in Jung-gu, Seoul, which began a trial operation, filled out visitor logs using Safe Call and QR codes before entering.
Until now, department stores and large marts have required visitor logs in crowded areas such as food courts. The government had not enforced this strictly because it takes an average of 10 to 15 seconds per person to fill out visitor logs like QR codes, which could cause congestion when many customers arrive at opening time. However, as the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases continues to reach four digits daily and remains uncontrolled, the government has decided to make visitor log submission mandatory even for large stores.
