Bank of Korea's Second Half Regular Personnel Changes for 75 People... Hong Kyung-sik Appointed as Director of Monetary Policy Bureau (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Bank of Korea appointed former Director Hong Kyung-sik as the Director of the Monetary Policy Department in its regular personnel reshuffle on the 23rd. Former Director of the Economic Statistics Department Park Yang-su was appointed as the Head of the Economic Research Institute, and former Director of the Economic Education Office Hwang Sang-pil was appointed as the Director of the Economic Statistics Department.
On this day, the Bank of Korea conducted its regular personnel reshuffle for the second half of the year with these changes. In this reshuffle, a total of 75 people were promoted: 7 to Grade 1, 16 to Grade 2, 25 to Grade 3, and 27 to Grade 4.
Hong Kyung-sik, who had been dispatched to the Korea Institute of Finance earlier this year, was appointed as the Director of the Monetary Policy Department. Since joining the Bank, the new Director Hong has mostly worked in the Monetary Policy Department, handling tasks such as establishing plans for the operation of monetary and credit policies, and has served as a policy advisor to Governor Lee Ju-yeol.

The new Director of the Economic Statistics Department, Hwang Sang-pil (former Director of the Economic Education Office), holds a Ph.D. in statistics and has mainly been responsible for economic forecasting, development of macroeconomic models, and organization of economic statistics while working in the Survey Department and the Economic Statistics Department.
