Fair Trade Commission Operates Unfair Subcontracting Report Center Ahead of Chuseok
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] The Fair Trade Commission announced on the 23rd that it will operate an 'Unfair Subcontracting Reporting Center' to prevent small and medium-sized enterprises from not receiving subcontract payments on time ahead of Chuseok.
The Fair Trade Commission will establish and operate centers in 10 locations across five regions nationwide, including the Seoul metropolitan area, Daejeon·Chungcheong area, Gwangju·Jeolla area, Busan·Gyeongnam area, and Daegu·Gyeongbuk area, from the 26th of this month to September 17th. Cases reported to the center will be handled more quickly than usual reports to ensure early payment of subcontracting fees.
Violations of the law will be investigated according to existing case handling procedures, but voluntary correction by the primary contractor and agreements between parties will be encouraged to resolve issues swiftly before the holiday.
Reports can be made via mail, fax, website, or phone.
