This Year’s Venture Capital Investment Scale Hits an All-Time High
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Major foreign media reported on the 21st (local time) that the scale of venture capital investment this year is reaching an all-time high, backed by stock market gains and abundant liquidity.
According to financial information firm Refinitiv, the amount of venture capital investment this year has reached $268.7 billion, already surpassing last year's annual investment of $251.2 billion.
Venture capital has been confirmed to have invested heavily in software, e-commerce, digital healthcare, and fintech companies. Funds have flowed into industries expected to grow due to COVID-19.
A market insider explained, "Due to lockdown measures and changes in consumer behavior caused by COVID-19, digital startups gained growth opportunities, and investor interest increased."
