Daejeon City Administers Pfizer Vaccinations to Approximately 19,000 Academy and Call Center Workers
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 22nd that it will conduct the 'COVID-19 Local Government Voluntary Vaccination' starting from the 26th of this month, targeting academy workers, call center employees, and sanitation workers.
The local government voluntary vaccination will be carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. The total number of eligible individuals is 19,964, and they are scheduled to receive the Pfizer vaccine.
The target groups include academy staff, youth sports facility workers, child and youth facility workers, disabled facilities staff, mental health facility workers, elderly facility workers, sanitation workers, volunteer firefighters, station staff, taxi drivers, bus drivers, postal workers, delivery workers, performing artists, new COVID-19 response personnel, bathhouse workers, and restaurant workers in establishments under 50㎡.
However, those who have already made reservations or completed vaccination, those who declined priority vaccination in the first half of the year, and individuals aged 50 or older (born in 1971 or earlier) are excluded from the vaccination target.
Reservations will be accepted from 8 PM on the 22nd until 6 PM on the 24th through the pre-reservation system website.
Vaccinations will be administered from the 26th of this month to the 13th of next month at five local vaccination centers.

Lee Dong-han, Director of the Health and Welfare Bureau of Daejeon City, stated, “We selected the vaccination targets for this month in compliance with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s guidelines and according to the local quarantine situation. As cluster infections linked to academies have been spreading recently in the region, we will strive to stabilize the quarantine situation through prompt voluntary vaccination.”
