Maeil Dairies "Manage Bone Health This Summer with 'Golden Milk'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Maeil Dairies is launching a specialized product for bone health called 'Golden Milk,' based on over 50 years of experience in dairy processing and nutritional design expertise.
The powdered Golden Milk is a bone health product that meets 100% of the daily recommended intake of calcium and vitamin D (calcium 800 mg, vitamin D 800 IU) with just two cups a day (20g of Golden Milk per cup). It is also designed to fulfill the daily recommended intake of zinc, vitamin B1, and niacin. Additionally, considering not only the amount of calcium intake but also its absorption in the body, it uses 100% milk calcium.
According to the 2016 National Health Statistics, 7 out of 10 Koreans consume less calcium than the required amount. In particular, the calcium intake required for women in their 50s and 60s is 600 mg per day, but the actual average intake is only 486.5 mg.

When comparing calcium absorption rates from different foods, milk has the highest absorption rate at 40%, followed by fish at 33%, and vegetables at 19%. Golden Milk uses milk calcium, which has the highest absorption rate, and for those who find dairy digestion burdensome, it uses lactose-free milk powder with 0% lactose for easy digestion and absorption. The lactose-free milk powder, the raw material, is exclusively supplied by Valio, Finland, which developed lactose-free milk for the first time in the world.
