Gwangju City Promotes 'Green Remodeling Project' for Aging Public and National Daycare Centers
Environmental Improvements Including Replacement of Interior and Exterior Wall Insulation at 16 Locations
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 21st that it will carry out a green remodeling project targeting aging national and public daycare centers.
This green remodeling project was promoted after securing 3.39 billion KRW through a public contest organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The targets are 16 aging national and public daycare centers that have been completed for more than 10 years. By next year, the environment will be improved through replacement of interior and exterior wall insulation materials, window replacement, installation of high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, boiler replacement, and LED lighting installation.
In particular, energy, living environment, new technology systems, and aesthetics will be improved to the level of newly constructed buildings.
Previously, Gwangju City remodeled two national and public daycare centers last year by investing 700 million KRW.
Through this project, the living environment of national and public daycare centers will be improved, greatly enhancing convenience for vulnerable groups such as infants and toddlers using the daycare centers and childcare staff.
