Jeonju City to Establish Art Complex Cultural Center in Seohak-dong
194 million KRW to be invested by June next year
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Han-ho] An art-specialized library and a living culture center will be established in Seohak-dong Art Village, Jeonju.
Jeonju City announced on the 21st that it plans to create an art complex cultural center, including an art-specialized library and a living culture center, on a 892.6㎡ site within Seohak-dong Art Village by investing a total project cost of 1.94 billion KRW by June next year.
For the art-specialized library, a two-story building near Jeonju National University of Education Affiliated Elementary School will be remodeled.
Jeonju City is currently conducting detailed design services for the construction of the art-specialized library and aims to start construction in September and open it within the year.
This place will be equipped with art corner reading rooms for four fields: fine arts, music, theater & dance, and photography, as well as an open reading room and an exhibition space for artworks.
The living culture center will consist of a community space for residents, creative spaces for exhibitions and performances, learning spaces, a multipurpose hall, and an open caf?.
The living culture center, which will be a three-story building, is expected to support the creative artistic activities of local artists and provide residents with opportunities to deeply enjoy cultural arts.
Jeonju City plans to complete the detailed design services for the living culture center by the end of this year and finish construction by June next year.
